00's are over at last!

Good riddance to the worst decade I've lived through! Regardless of whether 2010 will be any better than 2009, I'm very happy to see the end of the "aughts." I don't even have to worry about what to call them any more.

I haven't felt too good for quite a long time. I feel better now.

Best wishes to all for a happy New Year!

A couple of inconsequential notes

I've been trying, but haven't accomplished a whole lot of writing. It's hard to concentrate on it these days, too much fatigue, too much financial anxiety, too much time spent sitting at the computer waiting for a little work to come in. With a bit of luck that might change soon.

I really need to get that blasted fanfic out of my hair, and there's still so much left of it to write! I refuse to abandon it now, especially since I do have so many future scenes already written. But aargh!

***

Maybe the best bad writer in the business:

"A man is an angel that has become deranged... Once they had been genuine angels, and at that time they had had a choice between good and evil, so it was easy, easy being an angel. And then something happened. ... And they had become faced with the necessity of choosing not good or evil but the lesser of two evils, and so that had unhinged them and now each was a man."

-- Philip K. Dick, Galactic Pot-Healer

How can you not love a guy who writes a book called Galactic Pot-Healer?

***

I still like these pictures. Time to move on though, soon.

I'm going to put things there that I don't put here. Stuff that's less finished and more scrappy. And maybe more personal. I also put "Piranha" there.

Contributions from other writers are welcome. Art can be posted too.

I changed my icon today to a new one. Come back a few hours later and what do I see but a very OLD one I made a long time ago and haven't used in ages. Where did THAT come from? And now the DA system refuses to change it to anything else.

Oh well, guess I'm back to being Rayman and the electoons. I wonder what I'll be next time I return to DA.

___

Update: The new one's back again, wheee!! Maybe DA could dig up a few more of my oldest icons, ones I've forgotten about, I'd like to see them again...

There, I got rid of it.

Now I have a blank space, should I blather about something? Bah.

I got a good start on the next chapter of Piranha but then fell into the writing doldrums for various reasons - going to try to reboot soon. I need to get that blasted chapter out of the way!

Life in general goes on, but I sit in this room and type (or putter around on the internet, when avoiding work) so I'm not too up on all that "life" stuff. The cats stampede through the apartment, shedding fur, shaking the floor (they have a running path from one end of the living room into the bedroom and pursue each other through it several times a day). The bird gets bored and yells at me. I watch old movies, the older the better. I probably need to get out more, but where? Maybe back to Huntington Gardens or some such place. Yeah, soon.

Okay, enough space filled. See you anon.
