Griffith Park Fire

(Full view if you want to actually see anything.) I took this picture about 6:00 this morning from Fountain Street, near where I live. You can see some fire behind the Griffith Observatory (a wonderful place built in the 1930's for educational purposes rather than scientific research. It's not far from the Hollywood sign.) Not the greatest shot, but it's the best I could get from the street.

We first saw the fire yesterday afternoon as a huge brown-white plume of smoke coming from another part of the hills.

And the sky had been so unusually clean and clear here for the past few days. No more of that for a while.
